Canterbury Harriers' Jonathan Holmans put in a great performance to take his club's Red Lion 10K. He gradually pulled away and finished in 33:17 almost half a minute ahead of Ashford AC's Andrew Welch (33:44) at the end. In third was Lee McMeekin of Medway & Maidstone who finished in 35:11. Ashford & District AC took the honours in the team competition with Daniel Green, Patrick Butler and Ian Cox being the winning trio.

In the women's race there was the closest and most dramatic race possible as last year's winner Annabelle Stearns of Gravesend RR AC finished in a dead heat with last year's runner-up, Briony Segal of Ashford and District RR AC, in a time of 39:21. In third in a time of 39:54 was Sharon Hawkins of Invicta East Kent AC. In the team competition Cara Oliver, Laura Anderson and Marian Povey combined to take the team prize for Dartford Road Runners. (The prize was wrongly awarded to Invicta East Kent on the day.)

Due to the race being a Kent Grand Prix event and the much cooler weather than in the previous two years, there were 357 entrants, who each receieved a commemorative horse brass for their achievement. Canterbury Harriers appreciated the efforts of the friends and members who helped make the event a success, as well as the St John Ambulance Brigade who helped to ensure the well-being of the competitors. Shepherd Neame and KMFM provided welcome sponsorship, as did the Red Lion pub itself.
